Here’s a way I regularly practice - trying to play as freely as possible over a chord sound. Desperately trying to ignore the drummed-in legacy of my musical education, and instead, following my instinct. In this case, I looped an A13#9 voicing I’d just stumbled upon (from low to high strings XX5522) and took a solo.
